The Simpson Family

The Simpsons is an animated series created by Matt Groening and airs on FOX. The Simpsons first aired as shorts during the commercial break on the Tracy Ullman Show. It was turned into a series and the first episode, The Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire, first aired on December 17, 1989. Growing to widespread acclaim and fame in the public eye, The Simpsons, along with Beavis and Butthead, also grew to be some of the more racier and adult orientated animated shows in the US, due to strict and biased cultural standards and practices of the time.

The show was mentioned on Beavis and Butt-Head once in A Very Special Episode when Butt-Head reads "Symptoms" wrong. "Uhh, Symp, Symp... Simpsons? They're pretty cool." This could imply that Beavis and Butt-Head have watched The Simpsons on TV before. A Butt-Head plaque can be seen on the episode "Take My Life Please", and the duo is mentioned on "A Midsummer's Nice Dream", another Simpsons episode .
