Maxi-Mart Clerk

The Maxi-Mart Clerk is a recurring character in Beavis and Butt-Head. He was the clerk at the Maxi-Mart, a convenience store the duo frequently visit for nachos, beer and porn magazines, only for him to deny them service due to them having no money or being underage, which causes them to resort to shoplifting.

This same character has also been seen working at Home Labyrinth, though he doesn't seem to like his job there, as he gets annoyed when he has to keep telling Tom Anderson where to find the Spanish tiles when he's unable to ("Pool Toys").

Physical appearance[]

He is a middle-aged man with a brown middle-part hairstyle and a uniform. He doesn't appear to be very attractive, as he has bad teeth and hasn't aged well.

Personality[]

Like many other characters in the show, he is habitually annoyed by Beavis and Butt-Head. The duo often loiter in and around his convenience store while trying to pick up chicks, especially on Friday nights, and often shoplift. Because of this, he hates his job and is usually seen bored. When Beavis asks him "How's it going?", he replies "Bad."

He occasionally tries to get back at the duo, even resorting to shady actions to do so. For instance, he sells Butt-Head day-old insect-infested nachos in "Beavis and Butt-head vs. the Vending Machine", and gave them forks and stale donuts (picked out of the trash can) for their party since they had little to no money. One such attempt backfires when he calls the police to report a robbery in progress when Butt-Head helps himself to working the cash register ("Another Friday Night"). When the police arrive, they mistake him for an armed culprit, and he is beaten before being arrested.

Trivia[]

He is one of the few recurring characters not to appear in Beavis and Butt-Head Do America or Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
In the 2022 revival, a younger, more kempt man is seen working in his place at the Maxi-Mart, implying that he retired sometime in the time skip.
- He doesn't appear in the 2011 revival either, meaning he is one of the only characters to be exclusive to the original series.
In his appearances in the comics, his name tag reads "Finl", suggesting that his name might be Finley.
His voice has changed throughout the series, going from a nasally voice similar to Dick Jackman and Charlie the Angel, to a generic young man voice, to a deep guttural voice reminiscent of Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes.
