Home Aide is the 10th episode of Season 9 of Beavis and Butt-Head and the 232nd episode overall.

Synopsis[]

Old Beavis and Butt-head run out of beer money, so Beavis gets a job as home aide...to Butt-Head.

Plot[]

Smart Beavis and Smart Butt-head address the audience, reminding them there are countless versions of Beavis and Butt-head throughout the multiverse. They present the audience with a glimpse into the life of the middle-aged Beavis and Butt-head who never time traveled. The two men are in their apartment, talking about how they're out of beer and money (since the blood bank won't take Beavis' blood anymore). Beavis suggests they get jobs, but Butt-head reminds him that being unemployed is their job. He tells Beavis to go to the "unemployment store" and get more money. At the unemployment office, an employee tells Beavis he has reached the limit of checks they can give him, so he will have to get a job. Because Beavis has not worked since he was a teenager, the employee gives Beavis a job as a home aide; he explains it is a low-paying entry level job where he performs household duties for someone in need, making it good for self-esteem. Beavis accepts and heads to the address on his assignment form, not realizing until he arrives that it is his own apartment and he's been assigned to aid Butt-head. Butt-head insists that Beavis call him "Mr. Butt-head" and "tidy up", or he will report Beavis and they won't get any money. Later, Beavis and Butt-head are out shopping and start fighting over what to get. Butt-head eventually runs Beavis over with his mobility scooter, telling him he's fired. Soon, Beavis and Butt-head are back in their apartment with Beavis having sustained multiple injuries. The duo was able to get money off his worker's compensation. Beavis claims that he also gained self-esteem, but Butt-head tells him he didn't. Smart Beavis and Smart Butt-head end the episode by stating the audience couldn't comprehend what they were just shown, then repeatedly entering the wrong coordinates into their spaceship and breaking part of it off as they zoom away through a portal.

This is the first episode to focus on the middle-aged versions of Beavis and Butt-Head from Beavis and Butt-head Do the Universe, dubbed "Old Beavis" and "Old Butt-Head", respectively. Smart Beavis and Smart Butt-Head also return to bridge the episode.
- The show's title card features the old duo in place of the young ones, and the show's logo in the episode's title card has the word "Old" in it.
According to the Case Worker, Old Beavis was fired from Burger World 23 years ago. With this episode taking place in 2022, that would mean that Old Beavis was fired in the year 1999, a year after the black hole incident with the main younger duo.
- This also suggests that, in this timeline, the Burger World manager finally got fed up with the duo's gross incompetence and took proper action against it, something he never did in the original series (he only scolded and threatened the duo, but never fired them).
Old Butt-Head lives on 453 Dixon Street, Apartment 212.
