Doomsday

"Doomsday" is the 11th episode in Season 8 of Beavis and Butt-Head. It is the 211th episode overall.

Plot[]

Beavis and Butt-Head are watching a news report about a potentially huge toxic gas leak from a wrecked freight train derailment, warning that a 20-block radius of North Highland is being evacuated. The evacuation team knocks on their door, but the duo ignores it, not connecting the dots. The team assumes no one is home and drive away.

Beavis and Butt-Head finally go outside to find their neighborhood abandoned and, recalling talk of an apocalypse on the news, think the end of the world has happened and everyone on Earth besides them is dead. Beavis and Butt-Head are ecstatic because they now can go anywhere and do anything they want. They start by pillaging the abandoned Maxi-Mart.

After they're full on junk food and stocked on dirty magazines, they decide to live at Stewart's house. The duo make a mess of the place and destroy much of the Stevensons' belongings to "make it cool". As they begin getting on each other's nerves, they see a woman in a Hazmat suit outside, and try to "score". She tries to evacuate them but is repelled when they start coming on to her while taking off their clothes, and drives off in her truck, leaving Beavis and Butt-Head dismayed that they couldn't even score with the last woman on Earth.

Next, the two find a derelict redneck's house full of guns, a disassembled motorcycle and hunting trophies in the living room and other cool stuff. They decide to just live there watching TV and spanking their monkeys. Unfortunately, it belongs to one of their worst enemies, and soon, when the people of Highland are returning home, he is furious to find the duo there. Thinking he is a zombie, Butt-Head tells Beavis to shoot him, but he kicks both their asses.

Beavis and Butt-Head leave, covered in bruises, seeing everyone is back and realizing the world didn't really end. They see the news station filming at Stewart's house, now reporting on how it was ransacked and vandalized by looters during the evacuation. Not understanding he is talking about them, Beavis and Butt-Head lament that their efforts to make Stewart's house cool were wasted.

Trivia[]

This episode marks the official return of Harry Sachz, who supposedly died in "Butt Flambé". Although it is unknown how he survived the gunshots, it's possible that this episode is non-canon, could take place before "Butt Flambé", or Harry might have a twin brother.
Chronologically, "Tired" takes place before this episode, since the collapsed freight train appears in this episode.
This episode marks the return of Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson since "Nothing Happening" and "Leave It to Beavis" respectively (although Mrs. Stevenson's last canon appearance and Mr. Stevenson was last mentioned in "T.V. Violence", and neither speak in this episode) in 1997. It would also be Mr. Stevenson's final appearance to date, and Mrs. Stevenson's final appearance until Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe in 2022 (still non-speaking).
