Cleaning House is the 9th episode in Season 3 of Beavis and Butt-Head. It is the overall 40th episode.
Plot
After completely not getting the lecture about the workings of capitalism, Beavis and Butt-head are hired for a job by Mr. Van Driessen to clean up his house to further instill the meaning of the economic system to the boys, only to later regret this decision.
As Van Driessen pulls out loads of cleaning material, and just loads it onto the boy's hands, he tells them that their duty is to now clean the house, and tells them to not use his prized loofah sponges, and most importantly, to not touch his prized and irreplaceable 8 track collection.
Only getting the message of something about 8 tracks, and instead of cleaning, the duo tamper and destroys his irreplaceable 8-track tape collection. Beavis dissects one open by force, while Butt-head begins by putting in the 8 track a wrong way into the player, and proceeds to smash it in with a hammer to get it to work.
After a period of time, the boys rest after their play time with the tapes. Though Butthead remembers that they were to not touch the house, Beavis reminds him that they were to clean something- And Butt-head concludes that the tapes need washing. Taking them by the load, dumping them into the kitchen sink, soaking them in soapy water, and even to loading some in the toaster for them to dry off, Butt-head gets a phone call from their teacher at the upholstery shop, soon realizing they were there for a job.
After their teacher comes back, they have cleaned the house out thoroughly and well. Impressed with their work they have done, Beavis and Butt-head await their pay- And out of his own pocket, to each of them, he awards a measly dollar. Understandably overworked and feeling ripped off, Beavis and Butt-head walk away, dejected and uncontent with what their teacher did to them.
Much to Van Driessen's shock however, he discovers that his 8-track collection got destroyed in return by the boys. Issuing that he will now kill them for what they did, the garage's contents then flood over him, and covered with the meters of destroyed 8 tracks above him, remains crushed and helpless under its weight, in poetic coolness.
Beavis and Butt-head, now laugh of all the fun they had with the 8 track collection of their teacher's.
