So i've just been editing the 'apperarances' section of Highland High School, adding numerous episodes that where previously left out by the last editor, (63 episodes... Of which i've just spent the last hour skimming through every single episode from Season 1-7 to find them all).
I came across the episode, Vidiots, and decided to quickly check it's page as i always do when linking. I was surprised to see that the episode is listed as the 41st episode of Season 5, when it is actually the 10th episode of Season 6...
It also states it is the 130th episode overall, when it is actually the 148th episode overall... Starting to see a pattern here?
After proof-checking through the season & episode numbers on Wikipedia, IMDb & my own personal collection, I decided to dig a little further to see how the numbers could be so far apart from each other.
The original Frog Baseball and Peace, Love & Understanding, the first two episodes ever made, where pilot episodes aired on Liquid Television with no music videos featured. After the series moved to MTV, both episodes had music videos added to them.
But here's the problem... They aren't actually counted towards the 'overall episode' listings as they where pilots and mainly, they weren't really episodes, they where pilot shorts that where only 1 minute and 29 seconds long.
The problem get's even worse...
So that means Door-To-Door, the first full episode to air on MTV, is officially recognised as the actual first overall episode of the original Beavis and Butt-head series. -But on the Door-To-Door fandom page, it is stated to be the 3rd episode overall and that's where this has all gone completely pete tong.
-This means that all the way from Door-To-Door, to Womyn (130th episode overall), every episode is two episodes apart from the real number, if that makes sense...?
For instance, Dude, A Reward is listed as the 98th episode overall, it's actually the 100th episode.
Then you have Womyn, listed as the 129th episode overall when it's actually the 131st AND then that's when Vidiots (and whoever made the mistake of putting it in the wrong season lol) comes along and messes everything up entirely...
There's not enough coffee and donuts to help me deal with this...
So that means every episode, from Episode 132, Premature Evacuation, is now one episode apart from the real number, instead of two.
-Quickly fast forward to Bungholio, the Lord of The Harvest, the first Halloween Special which featured an extended episode.
This is what's causing the problem (along with the pilots), while technically this episode can be counted towards the overall episode number, it was officially listed as a Holiday Special, with the designation HW1. Meaning it should be in it's own section, not among the normal episodes.
It seems the problem has eventually fixed itself, or has it...?
The Mystery of Morning Wood, (the next episode after Bungholio, The Lord of The Harvest) is listed as the 142nd overall episode, which is correct.
So that means the numbers are now matching, instead of being one or two numbers apart, hooray!
-But five episodes later, when you get to the the Christmas Specials Huh-Huh-Humbug & It's A Miserable Life, it all goes pete bloody tong again... From the next episode Babysitting, instead of the numbers matching, the episodes are now two numbers apart like before, because once again, while technically these two episodes can be counted towards the overall episode number, they where officially listed as Christmas Specials, with the designations CS2a & CS2b.
2 hours later, back to square one.........................
Because Vidiots is wrongly listed in Season 5 instead of Season 6, this means that after the episode i've just mentioned, Babysitting, the episodes are now one number apart, AGAIN... Lasting all the way until the final holiday special of the original series, Beavis and Butt-Head Do Thanksgiving.
-Once again, while technically the episode can be counted towards the overall episode number, it was officially listed as a holiday special with the designation TG1.
So that means the very final episode, Beavis and Butt-Head Are Dead, is wrongly listed as the 200th episode overall, when it is in fact the 198th episode overall.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS
I think there should be a specific section for the Holiday Specials, as it really does mess up the entire episode overall listing since nearly EVERY episode is listed with the wrong overall number . -I'd be willing to create the holiday special section and add all the mentioned episodes + also correct all of the overall episode numbers so everything as how it should properly be... -It will take me a lot of time, coffee and donuts to fix everything, but i'm currently doing nothing but re-watching old episodes from Season 6 & 7 anway, so it'll give me something to do...
Admin, please give me some TP and permission to go ahead! xD
